Who We Are

Like many religions we have many names; Asatru, Forn Sidr, Odinism, Wotanism, and Theodism. And like the many names there are many ways the various regions and its people worshiped.

We consider ourselves Asatru and practice Forn Sidr as it translates to “Old Customs.” However, we do not believe that there is only one way to worship, it can be different for each person. There are many sagas, books, articles, etc that you can read that will give you information about the religion and its practices, but it is that inner feeling that sets you on the correct course. Many overlook the inner feeling. But it is this inner feeling that turned me to this religion many years ago, even before I bought my first book.

Some may come because this interests them and then leave because they realize it isn’t what they want and that’s ok. Life is a journey and if we don’t go off the beaten path once in awhile we’d never know adventure, we’d never open our eyes to the world, and we’d never find our true path.

Our Mission

To connect with like minded people and with those that are drawn to our religion but aren’t sure how to get started. To create a place where we can share knowledge, and grow spiritually and intellectually.

What We Are Not

We are not a hate group, racist, elitist, political activist or a live action role playing group.

Many groups including various hate groups, and other religions have incorporated some of our symbols and customs into their doctrine and unfortunately this can lead to confusion so we want to tell everyone up front what we are not.

With that being said understand we know everyone has their own views and that is to be expected. But here we promote tolerance and understanding of everyone’s views. In regards to the comment about the live action role playing group, understand we welcome everyone, but if you are just looking for a place to dress up like a Viking and run around the woods, or do a shock and awe for your parents then this isn’t the place for you. Does that mean wearing what you consider to be formal or traditional garb is unwelcome? No, wear what you feel is appropriate and if that means tunic and pants so be it. We simply want serious like minded people.
